We are pleased to work with another forward-thinking Canadian province, and believe our experience will be of benefit to the project.
Santa Monica, Calif. (PRWEB) September 7, 2007
Orion Health, a leading provider of clinical workflow and integration technology for the healthcare sector, today announced that the New Brunswick Department of Health has chosen Orion Health solutions to form the basis of their province-wide electronic health record (EHR) solution.
More than 740,000 people dwell in the Canadian province of New Brunswick, with 1,232 practicing physicians in practice. Steps are now being taken to prepare New Brunswick for the achievement of their first province-wide electronic health record solution.
Capital Health Region in Alberta, Canada, has had Orion Health's solutions implemented throughout their region enabling more than 2,000 physicians and over 6,500 health care staff access to an unparalleled range of patient lab results, medication information, clinical notes and demographic information.
Orion Health solutions, including its Concerto, Clinical Data Repository, Provider Registry and Rhapsody Integration Engine will provide physicians with access to patient health records throughout the province.
"We are thrilled to work with the province of New Brunswick and believe its patients and physicians will greatly benefit from the capabilities our solutions provide," said Paul Viskovich, President, North American Operations. "The ability to offer so many potential patients increased access to their healthcare records, as well as physician and staff via an EHR is truly satisfying for our staff and company.
"We are pleased to work with another forward-thinking Canadian province, and believe our experience will be of benefit to the project."
The New Brunswick Department of Health is demanding more immediate and convenient access to critical patient information. Speedy access to specialist consultation, diagnostic imaging services and laboratory results are among the province's goals. Orion Health will be part of the information effort to meet this overall demand.
