Orion Health, a leading provider of clinical workflow and integration technology for the healthcare sector, today announced that the New Brunswick Department of Health has chosen Orion Health solutions to form the basis of their province-wide electronic health record (EHR) solution.

More than 740,000 people dwell in the Canadian province of New Brunswick, with 1,232 practicing physicians in practice. Steps are now being taken to prepare New Brunswick for the achievement of their first province-wide electronic health record solution.

Capital Health Region in Alberta, Canada, has had Orion Health's solutions implemented throughout their region enabling more than 2,000 physicians and over 6,500 health care staff access to an unparalleled range of patient lab results, medication information, clinical notes and demographic information.

Orion Health solutions, including its Concerto, Clinical Data Repository, Provider Registry and Rhapsody Integration Engine will provide physicians with access to patient health records throughout the province.

The New Brunswick Department of Health is demanding more immediate and convenient access to critical patient information. Speedy access to specialist consultation, diagnostic imaging services and laboratory results are among the province's goals. Orion Health will be part of the information effort to meet this overall demand.
