All Stories Are True, and Some Actually Happened

Denver, CO, and Clermont, FL (PRWEB) September 8, 2007 -- Outskirts Press is pleased to bring you Keep Hope Alive: An Historical Fact Filled Fiction by Eileen Fleming, author of Third Intifada/Uprising: NONVIOLENT But with Words Sharper than a Two-Edged Sword: Memoirs of a Nice Irish-American Girl's Life in Occupied Territory.

Keep Hope Alive is a fictionalized account of the memoirs of a 1948 refugee from the Upper Galilee who made his way to the USA and realized the American dream, achieving a successful and lucrative career in the defense industry during the Cold War. After the events of what has come to be known simply as 9-11, he brought together people of many faiths to respond to evil with good, founding the Olive Trees Foundation for Peace, a 501 (c)3 organization dedicated to planting olive trees in Israel and the Palestinian Territories to promote reconciliation, peace, cooperation and mutual understanding.

Dr. Khaled M. Diab, the man whose life inspired this book, writes, "My relationships with Christians, Jews and Muslims who treat each other with respect have filled me with hope for our collective future. By praying together, working as partners, and sharing our pain, we have found peace and joy. This story is about hope and vision, harmony and peace. It is about loving each other and helping those in need. It is about creating a better world with hope for a better future for our children and theirs."

This fictionalized memoir also reflects the spiritual journey of its author. Through the voice of five "friends" who welled up in her imagination as she listened to Dr. Diab's story, Fleming shares how her faith has grown and changed through her 53 years. Each of the five fictional characters represents a way to intuit, discern or express the Divine.

"This book was written for every American who experienced THAT DAY, but has not been satisfied with easy answers," Fleming says. For those struggling with complex emotions regarding the evil experienced by the world on 9-11, Keep Hope Alive provides an opportunity to literally "extend the olive branch" of reconciliation. All royalties from the sale of this book will provide olive and other fruit-bearing trees for Israel Palestine.

Keep Hope Alive is a joy to read. While some of the characters in Khaled M. Diab's memoir are fictional, everything they say is true. And almost everything actually happened.
