The first phase of the Dayport new media content management solution installed at Networked Media Distribution Centre - NMDC - based at BSkyB's in West London went live at the start of the new football season.

The first phase of the NMDC provides Sky Sports with a centralised system for ingesting content from the production system based around a Leitch Nexio server platform. Content and associated data is ingested in to the NMDC and the operators now have the ability to publish Sports content to Sky's web site and mobile partners through a single, streamlined and integrated system.

As with News based content, speed, flexibility, simplicity and workflow are key for Sky Sports content and the Dayport system fulfils all these needs via a simple browser based intuitive system that enables operators to focus on content rather than overcoming technical hurdles.

On the first day of live use at the start of the FAPL (Football Association Premier League) the system was used to publish in-game goal alerts, match highlights, weekend round-ups and manager reactions for all Premier League matches to all five major UK mobile network operators.
