MD-IT Acquisition Adds Baltimore Office

MD-IT, a provider of medical transcription services and software for physician offices and ambulatory clinics, announced today that it has added a new regional office with the acquisition of DataKey MT Inc. of Maryland.

Boulder, CO (PRWEB) September 10, 2007 -- MD-IT, a provider of medical transcription services and software for physician offices and ambulatory clinics, announced today that it has added a new regional office with the acquisition of DataKey MT Inc. of Maryland. DataKey's owner received a combination of cash and stock in the transaction and has joined MD IT's management team as Managing Director of the Baltimore office.

"I made the decision to join MD-IT because their technology platform will enable my clients to stay on the cutting edge of medical documentation," noted Laurie Spangler-Rucks, a certified medical transcriptionist (CMT). Ms. Spangler-Rucks has founded two successful medical transcription companies and developed innovative programs for quality assurance and mentoring of new MTs. "The MD-IT platform helps my clients increase HIPAA compliance, import clinical notes to their EMR systems, and reduce time spent by physicians and administrative staff on creating, sharing and filing patient records."

"Laurie Spangler-Rucks has been a leader and innovator in this industry for many years, and it is a privilege to have her join our management team," said Tom Carson, president and CEO of MD-IT. "We welcome the energy, creativity and professionalism she brings to our company."

MD IT specializes in serving physician offices and ambulatory clinics, a market estimated at $7 billion out of the $10 billion spent annually on medical transcription in the US. MD-IT's technology platform is designed specifically to accommodate the myriad and unique workflows of physician practices, unlike many platforms that are designed primarily for hospital inpatient settings.
