Sterling Testing Systems, a leading provider of employment screening services, has entered a partnership with California-based Knowledge Management Systems (KMS), which streamlines manual and paper-intensive business processes, especially those related to on-boarding new employees such as I-9 processing and verification.

The partnership will provide Sterling clients with access to the full suite of KMS services, including XpressHRTM, a tool that incorporates online forms, I-9 form processing and storage, document management, on-boarding workflow and electronic signature technology to capture, process, manage and integrate personnel data.

Prior to 2005, the U.S. Government required all U.S. companies to collect, manage, and store paper I-9 forms with employee "wet" signatures, which made on-boarding new employees a tedious and cumbersome task. With the changes in law regarding I-9’s, companies are now able to maintain electronic versions of documents, creating a more versatile and consistent system for employee on-boarding. KMS is able to leverage these changes to create a powerful and flexible tool for collecting and maintaining employee records, including I-9’s.
