Balihoo Inc., developer of the advertising industry's first and only vertical search engine for advertising media, announced today that it has expanded its Beta Program to include media companies. Launched in June, the Beta Program previously was open only to media buying firms, advertising agencies and major national advertisers. In all, companies representing more than $80 billion in U.S. media spending annually have been participating, including eight of the top ten media buying organizations in North America.

Balihoo Inc., developer of the advertising industry's first and only vertical search engine for advertising media, announced today that it has expanded its Beta Program to include media companies.

Launched in June, the Beta Program previously was open only to media buying firms, advertising agencies and major national advertisers. In all, companies representing more than $80 billion in U.S. media spending annually have been participating, including eight of the top ten media buying organizations in North America.

The Balihoo search engine enables advertisers and agencies to search for media properties that are most relevant to their advertising campaigns, to gather and analyze information about those properties and interact with media owners to build and execute media plans. Balihoo works across geographies and on any media type including TV, radio, print, interactive and out-of-home.

For media owners, participating in the Beta Program means they will be able to "claim" their listings to ensure that it is up-to-date and enhance it with research data, advertising opportunities and other pertinent information, including media kits, rate cards and other documents. Active participation in Balihoo will help media owners extend the visibility of advertising opportunities to drive interest and sales leads, and will enable them to connect directly with interested buyers.
