"As clients and marketing agencies are managing more complex events for marketing campaigns, they need more advanced features and control over their event and trade show booking process. We have provided a solution by launching a new comprehensive website that provides advanced features and controls to both our clients and talent," states Shelly Justice, president and CEO of CMT Agency.

"Clients now have an automated booking request and event management system that allows them to create complex events. Clients can select from multiple talent types, from models to crowd gatherers to presenters, or even jugglers and celebrity impersonators, across multiple cities and dates. For example, a large company may be launching a new product line with an event tour that extends across three countries and 40 cities requiring literally hundreds of talent of different abilities and skills, wardrobes, and special instructions in each city. You can imagine the logistical issues that can arise organizing such a tour of events," said Shelly Justice.

Justice continued: "Now using our new system at cmtagency.com, each client can login and create these types of complex requests online and manage the entire process from their dashboard of events. Specific talent can be requested from hundreds of talent types, gender, languages, etc. to meet their marketing requirements. They can then select from a an exceptional group of talent we recommend for each city, date and time frame. Clients can rate the talent they use and request them again for future events or select completely new talent from our expansive and constantly growing resource pool."

"After several planning sessions to understand CMT Agency's business processes and research in the market, we were able to deliver a truly unique and comprehensive solution that utilized the latest web technologies for CMT's exploding international business," states Fred Tanzella, CEO and founder of Glick Interactive, Inc., the developers of the cmtagency.com website.

"With so many anomalies that occur in complex event planning and logistics to normal processes, we needed a framework that would allow us to modify back-end business processes without affecting front-end development. We chose CakePHP (http://cakephp.org/) due to the model view controller (MVC) architectural pattern that is inherent in the framework. We used AJAX throughout the site utilizing script.aculo.us libraries for user interface functions such as a light-box for clients to scroll through talent photos, dynamic tabs, drag and drop features to select talent and view portfolios, and AJAX-driven data grids for easy sorting and selecting throughout the site, and Flash to stream video and audio for talent reels and audio voice-overs. CSS and XML are used for layout making the pages display up to 50% faster than the older technology sites.

Since marketing companies and large corporations that provide events and promotions can have multiple events occurring in multiple cities, we created a dashboard where clients can easily get a snapshot of the status of all their events and take actions on events that need talent to be selected, locations edited, etc. We then added the same functionality for talent, so they could manage their job invitations, job details, set up multiple work cities, and even get map directions to the event locations," said Fred Tanzella.
