Accidents and illness can occur anywhere
Birmingham, AL (PRWEB) September 16, 2007
AirMed International (airmed.com), the country's leading air ambulance service, has made a name for itself by providing annual membership plans in the U.S. and Canada protecting travelers if injury or illness strikes them while away from home. Now, AirMed has announced new Short Term Plans for anyone wanting coverage for a specific time period.
AirMed Traveler (AMT) Short Term memberships start at $95 for an individual needing coverage for a 1-14 day trip. Coverage for a family, including up to 5 dependents, for the "AMT 14" is only $175. "AMT 30" memberships cover individuals and families for up to 30 days and are $150 (individual) and $250 (family). Whether taking a trip around the world or to a neighboring state, an AirMed Traveler membership may be the most important item travelers take with them.
As an AirMed Traveler member, if you are sick or injured while traveling, an AirMed air ambulance will get you home to your family, your doctors, your local hospital. It's as simple as that. Benefits also include access to AirMed's Medical Services Hotline Representatives 24 hours every day to locate appropriate medical care and English-speaking physicians while traveling abroad - even for something as minimal as a stomach virus. AirMed members also have access to up-to-the-minute travel advisories and security assessments.
There are no co-pays, no claim forms, no 'nearest appropriate facility' restrictions, no medical necessity requirements, no financial limits, and no out-of-pocket costs that are common with most travel insurance or premium card services. When a medical evacuation can cost in excess of $200,000, AirMed is, quite simply, the best kept secret in the travel industry.
"Accidents and illness can occur anywhere," says Jeffrey T. Tolbert, president and founder of AirMed International. "Knowing they will have access to superb medical care and transportation - no matter how long or short their trip - provides our members with true peace of mind."
Annual AirMed Traveler memberships start at $250 for individuals and $350 for families (two adults and up to five dependents.) Known as "Student Away," memberships are also available to students 15 to 26 years of age who are enrolled in accredited programs of international study. Customized pricing is available to organizations or groups. Special pricing for corporations, associations and payroll deduction plans are also available.
