PremiumCast is new system, developed by Paul Colligan and Alex Mandossian, authors of "The Business Podcasting Bible" which allows creators of digital media to manage, deliver and even sell their content in a highly personalized fashion via iPod®, iPod touch®, and many other devices. Not only will the system allow users to create custom messages, it will track subscribers usage, monetize podcasts, allow podcasts to be made public or private and it offers 1-click add to iTunes®. Additional income can be earned through a paid commission feature.
According to Colligan, "The normal paradigm for podcasts is one feed for everyone -- so everyone hears or sees the same content. With PremiumCast you can target personalized content to individual users." Additionally Colligan says, "PremiumCast has features that are not available in any other new media or ecommerce system on the market today. For example, with PremiumCast you can know who your subscriber base is and you can track their use."
The ability to customize podcasts, deliver certain content to certain users and manage every aspect of content delivery will allow podcasters to monetize their content is impossible for such mediums as radio and television. In addition, this customization will lead to far greater retention of listeners. Even Colligan and Mandossian are excited to see how PremiumCast subscribers will put the system to work. They expect innovation far beyond what they have so far imagined.
According to Marc David an early user of the system, "Premiumcast has given me the ability to effectively bring personal audio and motivation which is critical to any fitness program. The full automation has decreased the number of questions and allows me to focus more on podcasting and less on the technical issues." In addition, David has used the system to deliver personal motivational messages to the individuals who subscribe to his fitness membership program.
