ShareMethods Introduces ShareWiki, Collaboration Tool for Salesforce.com's AppExchange
Wiki features for sales, marketing, and support added to ShareOffice application suite.
San Francisco, CA (PRWEB) September 17, 2007 -- ShareMethods (http://www.sharemethods.com) has added a robust wiki capability to its knowledge management platform for salesforce.com's AppExchange. Called ShareWiki™, it provides a convenient way for Salesforce users to share ideas or jointly create marketing, sales, or support documents. The announcement was made today at Dreamforce '07, salesforce.com's User and Developer Conference
ShareWiki allows users to create collections of web pages by means of a graphical editor, eliminating the need to understand wiki markup tags. Users may easily link web pages, add pictures, create tables, attach documents, and format pages in wysiwyg (what you see is what you get) style.
A wiki is in essence a collection of web pages that may be edited by multiple individuals, with changes appearing online immediately. Authorized ShareWiki users may call up a "track changes" view to see which modifications were made by each user. A full-text search feature enables users to find which wiki pages contain any idea or term of interest.
"ShareWiki provides an additional way for salesforce.com customers to become more efficient," said Eric Hoffert, CEO of ShareMethods. "Sharing knowledge more readily within an organization yields huge benefits that translate into more productive salespeople and more effective customer support."
ShareWiki pages typically are kept secure for use only by an organization's authorized users. These may include both Salesforce users and others who do not have a salesforce.com login. The administrator may designate which users have editing privileges or read-only access. Authorized users may easily convert ShareWiki pages online to .doc or .pdf formats for printing or attaching to email messages. Optionally, any ShareWiki page may be made available publicly for reading on the World Wide Web.
ShareWiki is a feature of ShareMethods' innovative product, ShareOffice™ for AppExchange. ShareOffice encompasses the successful ShareMethods on-demand document management capabilities along with word processor, spreadsheet, and presentation tools. The ShareWiki functionality is based on the iNetWord online editor of iNetOffice Inc., part of the OpenSAM.org (Open Simple Ajax Mashups) consortium. Built on the Force.com platform, ShareWiki is now in limited availability for salesforce.com customers and is being demonstrated at the Dreamforce 2007 Conference in San Francisco.
"The AppExchange gives the thousands of salesforce.com customers a way to take advantage of the valuable collaboration capabilities inherent in Web 2.0 technologies," said George Hu, Chief Marketing Officer at salesforce.com. "Salesforce.com customers can deploy these new wiki capabilities from ShareMethods in its ShareOffice product with just a few clicks via the AppExchange."
