The Desert's Rich Earth Tones Meld with a Clean, Soft-Contemporary Look to Create Barclay Butera Home's 'Modern Desert' at High Point Fall '07 Market

This fall, lifestyle designer Barclay Butera offers a departure from Spring's uber-sumptuous European Colonial era and travels forward in time to the "modern desert", bringing to mind artist enclaves where nature's rich colors reign over a more neutral landscape, and the outside serves as a rich extension of an often more minimal, clean indoor lifestyle. Barclay Butera Home -- located at IHFC Interhall #IH504 -- will celebrate how the desert influences the interaction of décor and art, and how easily this display of 'the new neutrals' can be used as the basis for a broad range of stunning design approaches.

Butera has been inspired by the hues of the Southwestern U.S. desert -- from white to off-white, beige to chocolate to cinnamon, and orange to reds to vivid crimson. He enjoys how contemporary artists have reproduced this color scheme and the desert's simple forms as well, thereby bringing the outdoors in via their canvasses. The "modern desert" décor of Barclay Butera Home offers a range of elegant, clean-lined, signature Barclay Butera pieces covered in 'new neutrals' with texture, subtle patterns and earth tones. These create the perfect stage for great art and fashionable, vibrant accessories.

"Luxury comes naturally -- literally -- in my 'modern desert' theme," says Butera, CEO/President of Barclay Butera Inc. "Artist enclaves such as Santa Fe, New Mexico, have inspired the integration of fine art and the ruggedness of the desert terrain into their community. I want to celebrate this idea by offering new fabrics and Barclay Butera Home furnishings that are elegant, warm, and classic, and that invite other elements in a room to be highlighted."

Butera will be displaying his new collection of art (available through Soicher Marin) at High Point, as well as his recently debuted pillow line. The pillows will compliment the artwork and will be shown primarily in fabrics of a deeply hued palette. This collection will also showcase a great deal of new leathers, "exotic leathers," according to Butera.

For this Fall, Barclay Butera Home is proud to present for to High Point Market:
