When we first conceived of the Everest Poker Avalanche, we knew we were going to see some great play, but this has exceeded our expectations!

Everest Poker http://www.everestpoker.com today announced that the online final for its Everest Poker Avalanche tournament would be held at 15:00GMT. The online final, which features a buy-in of $5000+300 is closed to new registrations.

"This is the culmination of months of great poker action," said Jonathan May, Everest Poker property manager. "When we first conceived of the Everest Poker Avalanche, we knew we were going to see some great play, but this has exceeded our expectations!"

When the final table of ten players is reached in the Everest Poker Avalanche final, gameplay will stop and then resume on board a Costa Cruise ship in the Mediterranean. Prize packages issued to the final ten players include travel and lodging on board the ship. The breakdown of the guaranteed prizes for the final ten is as follows: First place wins $233,200 - 22% of the $1,060,000 guaranteed prize; second place wins $127,000 (12%); third place wins 9% ($95, 400) and the remaining seven places divide a total of $254,400.

"This is the most important online poker tournament we've hosted and I can't wait to see what the live play is like," May added.

Spanning nine months, the Everest Poker Avalanche involved both online play as well as live poker games. The tournament featured a three-round structure that allows players at all levels to join in. Round 1 satellites were designed for players looking for little up-front risk: buy-ins were $3+.30 or $11+1. Round 2 satellites were ideal for players that are more confident in their ability and wish to save time - the buy-in was $56+5.

For players with big bankrolls that wanted to skip right to the top, Everest Poker offered two choices: monthly Round 3 satellite events with a $530+30 buy-in as well as entrance to the Online Avalanche Finale for $5000+300, which is now closed.
