Impact Unlimited has been awarded "Best Exhibit Promotion" by Exhibitor Magazine.

Impact Unlimited, a leading provider of brand communications for events, meetings, and exhibits worldwide, has been awarded "Best Exhibit Promotion" in the last 10 years by Exhibitor Magazine. Impact is being honored with the award for their brand-couture fashion show for BASF at the 1997 National Plastics Exposition entitled "Planet Innovation." Projects debuting between May 1, 1997 and May 1, 2007 were eligible to compete for the title.

"We are thrilled and honored to be named the Best Promotion in 10 Years," said Ken Payne, President of Impact Unlimited. "This award truly is a testament of Impact's ability to develop core creative ideas that deliver results and endure the test of time."

Impact's innovative program for BASF was centered on reinforcing the company's reputation as an innovator in plastics and technologies as well as demonstrating BASF's wide variety of unique applications in a fun and exciting manner. Raising BASF's visibility and recognition among target audiences, which included plastic product manufacturers, designers, and engineers were also key objectives for the program.

With these goals in place, Impact created a unique and attention grabbing integrated program that included direct mail, exhibit design and production, business theater production, and customized premiums that all worked together to create the Planet Innovation experience for attendees. The booth was set up as a cybercafé with a fashion runway bisecting the space. While prospects sipped on cappuccinos they were entertained with a seven minute fashion show which featured models donning costumes made of plastics end-products. Working with a New York City fashion designer, everything from computer keyboards, car manifolds, electrical connectors to fishing poles to carpet fibers were used in the costumes. Each of the costumes were designed to highlight a specific target market of the BASF plastics group such as Consumer Goods, Automotive, and Recreation. As the models walked the runway the presenter and video detailed pertinent BASF facts and offered practical uses for the items that composed the costumes.

"The results of this booth definitely exceeded BASF's expectations," said Mr. Payne. "As a result, they collected more than 1,100 leads, a 95% improvement from the previous year, a 40% increase in overall booth traffic during the show, and received broadcast coverage on both CNN and Fox News. Ultimately, the most significant result of the program was a business relationship made with a major toy manufacturer who was impressed with the fashion show and still continues to do business with BASF today."
