Adam Palmer to discuss the dangers and benefits online social networking Web sites provide to children as part of an industry panel.

Adam Palmer, Chief Cyber Security Counsel, will join a social networking panel to discuss the legal issues associated with Web Sites' responsibilities to protect users from predators and other criminals. Using real-life examples, Adam will discuss both the dangers and the benefits that social networking sites introduce to children. He will also illustrate issues that law enforcement faces in working with social networking sites, including legal issues surrounding privacy concerns and user tracking.

Adam Palmer is the Chief Cyber Security Counsel for Arlington, VA-based Internet brand protection and cyber security company, Cyveillance Inc. Adam provides legal counsel to Cyveillance on issues involving Internet governance, phishing remediation, malware detection, Internet financial fraud and brand protection. Prior to joining Cyveillance, Adam served as the Director of the Office of Legal Counsel for The National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC). Adam has lectured extensively on prosecuting internet crimes against children to all levels of law enforcement. While a Navy JAG, Adam advised and lectured federal law enforcement agents on the investigation of crimes against children.
