Time of Grace (http://www.timeofgrace.org), a Milwaukee-based television ministry featuring Pastor Mark Jeske, will make its debut on the DAYSTAR Network on Wednesday, October 3 at 5:00 p.m. central standard time. This national launch allows the thirty minute Bible-study format to be seen by anyone in the world with DirectTV or DishNetwork, as well as by people in 36 markets across the country who have DAYSTAR as part of their cable package. Among the new markets Jeske’s gospel message will reach are New York, Philadelphia, Dallas, Houston, Seattle, Phoenix, Denver, and Atlanta.
“Wow – for this relatively young television ministry taped right here in our church, and still with just one full-time producer – this is a major milestone,” said Jeske, senior pastor at St. Marcus Lutheran Church on Milwaukee’s near north side for 28 years. “We’re ecstatic to have this opportunity to share Jesus with so much more of the world - through DAYSTAR.”
Time of Grace was founded in 2001 by a group of Christian businessmen who shared one common goal – to develop a broadcast media ministry and share the good news of Jesus with as many people as possible. Six years later, Time of Grace now employs five full-time people and is currently on air in nearly 20 markets throughout the United States, including Chicago, Minneapolis/St. Paul, St. Louis, Orlando and its hometown Milwaukee, where it began.
DAYSTAR reaches an estimated 60 million households in the United States, and is also available worldwide through a number of satellite providers. Being available on DAYSTAR will instantly increase the reach of Time of Grace by hundreds of thousands when the program launches on October 3.
Recently, Time of Grace has seen a major increase in online traffic as well. The number of online viewers who listen and watch the program both on the organization’s website, timeofgrace.org, as well as through downloads from iTunes, has nearly doubled since the beginning of 2007.
“We’ve found that people want to receive their spiritual nourishment through a variety of channels – TV, radio, print, online, blogs, and more,” said Jeske, whose blog is rising as one of the more popular pages on the timeofgrace.org site. “We try to use a mix of tools, from our television program to daily e-mail devotions to shorter videos on YouTube to reach people where they are in life, but still keep our message consistent and biblically true.”
Visitors will find daily e-mail ‘Grace Moments’ devotions online, and can sign-up to receive monthly devotional booklets and magazines about once a month to learn about the ministry. More than 10,000 individual receive mailings each month.
The ministry also recently launched a YouTube page to share Jeske’s thoughts on topical subjects each week with online audiences who may not watch the television program. To ministry’s page can be found at http://www.youtube.com/profile?user=pastormarkj.
Now ten years old, DAYSTAR Television Network has emerged as the fastest growing and second largest Christian television network in the world. DAYSTAR operates over 50 television stations in major markets across the United States with production facilities in Dallas, Houston, and Denver. DAYSTAR has a potential audience of more than 128 million viewers in the U.S. alone, which includes 60 million cable and satellite homes. For more information, visit http://www.daystar.com.
