It's a fact; more than ever police are switching to laser guns to more effectively capture vehicle speeds and issue unwanted speeding tickets. Laser's narrow, three milliradian infrared beams can easily target individual vehicles in the heaviest metropolitan traffic, leaving ordinary radar detector users with no advanced warning. To address this growing threat against motorists, K40 Electronics announced today the introduction of the Laser Defuser EX and EX2, the next generation in laser technology from the company that invented active laser protection systems.
Laser Defuser EX and EX2, the company's third major Defuser redesign since 1994, features all new internal electronics with more powerful laser emitters, improved laser reception capabilities, and updated software programming against the newest police laser technology. In addition, the new designs are almost 50% smaller than any previous Laser Defuser, so the systems blend discreetly into any vehicle and are virtually unnoticeable.
Powerful Performance Against Today's Lasers
Defuser EX and EX2 are active laser systems designed to detect and deactivate the laser light signal transmitted by police laser. When police laser beams hit a targeted vehicle, Defuser EX and EX2 send out a return pulse signal at the same frequency as the laser guns. This deactivates the police speed measurement capability of the laser gun and gives the driver the time needed to react and safely reduce their speed. Because they do not interfere with radio waves or FCC regulated devices and no laser diodes are used, Defuser EX and EX2 are completely harmless and no federal laws ban their use.
Available in Single or Dual Module Design
The standard Defuser EX features a single laser module that is designed to mount with or without the included license plate frame. The frame, made of ABS plastic, allows for an ideal mounting location around the license plate, the preferred targeting point for police laser, while providing stealth, OEM appearance. On larger vehicles, or installations where front license plates are not utilized, the Defuser EX2 model features two laser modules (with no frames) that mount on opposite sides of the vehicle for increased coverage and maximum performance. The systems are activated when the ignition switch is turned on and notifies the driver of any laser threats with audible and visual alert warnings.
Compliments Any Existing Radar Detector
Laser Defuser EX and EX2 are designed to integrate with K40's patented CALIBRE™ and UNDETECTABLE™ remote installed radar detectors, but may also be used separately as stand lone laser protection with any brand radar detector.
Guaranteed Performance and Quality
The Laser Defuser EX and EX2 are backed by three guarantees that provide confidence in ownership and operation. First, if a motorist receives a laser ticket while their Defuser EX or EX2 is operating, K40 will pay the cost of the fine. Secondly, if an owner isn't completely satisfied with its performance, the Defuser EX or EX2 can be returned within 30 days of purchase for a full product credit. Lastly, Defuser EX and EX2 are covered by a one year parts repair/replacement warranty.
As is the case with all K40 products, the new Defuser EX and EX2 are only available through select authorized new car dealerships and specialty electronics stores. Suggested retail installed prices for the Defuser models are $329.95 for the EX version and $625.95 for the EX2, although prices may vary by dealer depending upon installation requirements.
Established in 1977, K40 Electroncs is the industry leader in custom installed remote radar and laser protection systems including the CALIBRE and UNDETECTABLE radar systems, and the new Laser Defuser EX and EX2.
