College-focused website, StudentStuff.com has been receiving entries for their project-launch promotional contest. The contest offers $10,000 to the best user-generated video commercial explaining why StudentStuff.com is the best site for students. Soon, the polls will open so that students can decide who will win that $10,000 prize.
"We've gotten some great entries," said college student and entrepreneur Geoff Gibson, creator of StudentStuff.com. "Now it's time to open up the voting and determine which online video is the best." Gibson and his team are preparing to launch StudentStuff.com, a new website focused on the needs of college and university students. They're anticipating a lot of excitement for the site launch, because not only will there be a great new resource for college kids, but they'll also be announcing the winner of their $10,000 contest to create a 30-second user-generated commercial explaining why StudentStuff.com is the best site for students.
"As exciting as the contest has been," said Gibson, "it's even more exciting to get the site live. We've gotten some great entries, and it's been fascinating seeing everyone's submissions. But as a student myself, I know how frustrating it can be trying to find everything you need spread out across the web. Getting information on universities and colleges is more complicated than it needs to be. Buying and selling college books on eBay is too expensive for many students. We've made every effort to include the best features and information to create a college website that gives students everything they need in one place."
College-seekers can take advantage of StudentStuff.com's advanced search, which provides information on over 3,500 schools based on GPA, location and major. They will be able to sell their college books or other items conveniently and securely -- a great way to earn additional money for school. The site will also have all the social networking features that college students expect, including user profiles and the ability to blog and interact with other students either at their school, or keep in touch with former high school friends at other schools across the country. College chat rooms will also be available to keep students connected.
The site is a particularly valuable resource for college musicians, bands and artists. Musicians and bands can sell their CDs and shirts, as well as host their music in the Music Community, a dedicated section of the site. Student artists can also promote and sell their artwork in the Artists' Café.
Featured contests where users can win money and other great prizes are another feature of StudentStuff.com. The first of these contests, a competition to create the best online video commercial for the site, is offering the winner a prize of $10,000 cash, as well as a chance to get their work seen on StudentStuff's first television campaign.
Since announcing the contest, entries have been pouring in. Gibson and his team are reviewing the entries prior to posting them on the preview site for voting. Users will have the next week to check out their peers' videos, and vote for the winning entry. The winner will be announced on September 27, 2007.
