Business publishers are well on the way to adapting to the new information dynamic driven by the web and are poised for continued growth
New York (PRWEB) September 21, 2007
AdMedia Partners (http://www.AdMediaPartners.com), a leading New York financial advisory firm, is pleased to announce the addition of Michael Parker as Managing Director. Parker, recently Senior Vice President of Nielsen Business Media's Marketing & Media Group, will leverage his industry knowledge to head up AdMedia's business-to-business practice. With an extensive publishing background emphasizing digital media development, his innovative perspective will elevate AdMedia's B2B practice.
The addition comes at a time when middle market M&A activity remains strong, as predicted by AdMedia's 2007 market surveys of prospects for mergers and acquisitions. "Business publishers are well on the way to adapting to the new information dynamic driven by the web and are poised for continued growth," says Mark Edmiston, Managing Director at AdMedia.
Mike has a strong track record of leadership and success. He began his career at Time Inc, rising to Eastern Regional Manager for Sports Illustrated before starting custom publishing business Parker Media in 1987. He rejoined the New York publishing community in 1996 as SVP at Adweek Magazines, later ascending to the position of President.
At VNU (recently re-named Nielsen Business Media), Parker became President of the Marketing/Media & Design Group while continuing to run the Adweek stable of titles. He was given additional responsibility for American Artist, the Clio Awards, Watson-Guptill books and multiple brands in the retail and design markets. His focus on expanding into the Hispanic market lead to the introduction of Marketing y Medios and his transformation of Editor & Publisher into a profitable monthly print and online brand led his team to be awarded the VNU Chairman's award in 2005.
Mike holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Philosophy from Miami University of Ohio.
Founded in 1990, AdMedia Partners provides M&A advisory services for digital and traditional media, marketing and information businesses. The firm has completed over twenty deals year to date, including transactions with Hachette Filipacchi Media, in its sale of assets of Premiere to Wenner Media, Bonnier AB, with its acquisition of Time4Media, and Burrill & Company, in its union with VNU Business Media.
