(PRWEB) September 23, 2007
De La Rue, the world's leading commercial currency production and cash handling company, today announced that it will launch Business Intelligence, a component for its Enterprise Cash Management (ECM™) software suite, at ICCOS 2007. The portal-based software has proven, in live testing, to optimise bulk cash processing, by increasing performance and productivity, for some customers by 20%, delivering a 15% improvement in cash utilisation and maintaining up to 97% uptime.
"Improvements to productivity, performance and security are what our customers need from us in today's competitive environment. The Enterprise Cash Management software suite allows our customers to not only monitor, but optimise their cash handling supply chain in a secure and risk adverse environment" stated Sanjay Razdan, Managing Director, Cash Processing Solutions at De La Rue.
Until now, the only way to obtain a centralised view of single or multiple cash centres was the resource intensive process of consolidating numerous disparate reports. Whilst this ultimately provides the required information it only allows the organisation to be reactive. For cash centres to be more productive they need a more complete solution, one that enables them to take proactive action to ensure the security and integrity of their entire cash handling process. As such Business Intelligence delivers real-time business insights, direct to the desktop of senior managers. With all of this critical information right at their fingertips senior managers can now proactively make the right decisions at the right time, keeping performance optimised at the highest level.
Key performance indicators, such as current insurance levels, cash ownership, machine speed, usage and throughput; downtime and cash destruction (as a result of end of life) are all monitored, consolidated and presented in real-time from the Business Intelligence portal. Access to these insights enables predictive maintenance procedures to be implemented. In addition Business Intelligence offers consolidated information on overall cash stock levels, its allocation and ownership, thereby reinforcing all the security and control requirements for customers.
Jon Ryley, Global Director, Enterprise Cash Management at De La Rue added "The launch of Business Intelligence is the result of our 40 years of expertise and presence in many of the world's largest bulk cash processing centres. It is the central component of the De La Rue ECM™ suite of software products that are designed to give all bulk cash processing organisations the management information they need at their fingertips, to ensure the integrity, security and optimisation of the entire cash handling process. "
All of the components in the De La Rue ECM™ software suite have been designed with an open architecture that delivers smooth integration with a variety of operating systems and hardware platforms, ensuring that the benefits of Business Intelligence are available to all.
According to Banking Research, banks in the UK alone incur costs of £2.5 billion to process cash transactions. Ryley concludes, "When this is compared with percentage efficiency gains De La Rue's Business Intelligence has demonstrated in proof of concept testing, the potential for our customers to reduce costs by optimising the efficiency of the entire cash handling process are vast."
The formal launch of Business Intelligence will take place at ICCOS, 23rd to 26th September, 2007 at The Venetian hotel in Las Vegas, Nevada, USA. On the De La Rue stand will be a live demonstration of the software integrated with an onsite cash centre running cash and casino vouchers. Visitors will be able to experience how quickly Business Intelligence is able to consolidate and present insightful and actionable information following the end of each batch.
