AirClic and Thornberry Partner to Integrate Mobile Business Process Solution into NDoc® Clinical Point of Care System

Thornberry first home health software provider to offer AirClic-Enabled workflow solution for home health agency and hospice field staff.

AirClic, a leading provider of business process mobilization solutions, and Thornberry Ltd, developer and marketer of intelligent, leading-edge management information systems for the home healthcare and hospice industry, today announced the integration of AirClic® as part of Thornberry's NDoc® point of care software. The integration of AirClic into Thornberry's existing information management software will assist healthcare clients with Home Health Aide scheduling, care planning and documentation, in real-time, and is an industry-first.

The integrated solution leverages the AirClic MP platform to push daily schedules and corresponding patient care plans created by nurse case managers in NDoc to AirClic-enabled cell phones used by home health aides when treating patients in their homes. In addition, aides in the field will update the care plan on the phone following various prompts to help track and confirm care activities. This data is then sent back to NDoc and patient information is updated online in real-time, eliminating paper visit notes and reducing administration time.

Additionally the AirClic-enabled cell phones come with built-in GPS capabilities and an optional Motorola AC25 integrated bar code scanner. The GPS functionality will prompt for start time/end time, mileage and expense data for reimbursement, while the bar code scanner allows for easy "paperless" data entry and the ability to track inventory supplies.

The ability to know in real-time that patient care plans are being fully and properly implemented, and to receive data from the field and have it seamlessly integrate back into the point of care system will be invaluable to home health agencies in improving quality care."

The new mobile solution will also enable clinicians to respond immediately if there is a patient emergency or even a change in patient status. AirClic's built-in GPS tracking capabilities also provides agencies the ability to know where each aide is at any given time so they can quickly redirect resources where they are needed, if a patient emergency occurs or if an aide calls in ill. On another level, AirClic also provides an additional measure of security for home care aides in the field. The walkie-talkie feature provided with cell phones enables instant communication in case of emergency.
