In keeping with the rising popularity of the pet industry, one new featured studio at the Brewery Art Colony will be Alex in Welderland's Custom Pet Urns, where unique custom created cremation urns for pets will be on display and for purchase for the first time. Alex in Welderland also represents other fine artists in all mediums creating pet memorial artwork.
This will be the first time Alex in Welderland will be showing her custom urns at the Art Walk. In her studio at 642 Moulton Ave. #E31 L.A. CA 90031, she will be joined by painter Elizabeth Leifer, wire weaving jeweler Lisa Toland, and painter Sangeeta Levy. Her work can also be seen at http://www.custompeturns.com.
Over 300 artists live and work at the Brewery Art Colony, making it one of the largest art colonies in the world, encompassing a range of work from painting, photography, sculpture, video, installation and more. Along with the open studios, there will be more than 6 galleries open, including I-5, Raid Projects, and Brewery Projects. Some galleries feature European artists in residence, so it is a truly international event.
The Brewery Art Walk expects over 8,000 on this fall weekend to visit the 100+ open studios and galleries. Barbara's at the Brewery will be open to serve food and cocktails. Bring comfortable shoes, as there is a lot to see on the 23 acres of restored brewery buildings, Edison Electric Building, and unique loft spaces.
