Mitt Romney Hits Rock Bottom at Values Voter Presidential Debate
Mitt Romney scored absolutely no votes during the post event straw poll at the Values Voters Presidential Debate. Can he connect with the conservative Christian voters?
Ft. Lauderdale, FL (PRWEB) September 27, 2007 -- Mitt Romney scored zero votes during the post event "live electronic straw poll" at the Values Voters Presidential Debate (http://www.valuesvoterdebate.com) in Ft. Lauderdale, Fl, Monday night. After starting the evening with 4% of the pre-debate votes, Romney received 0% of the votes in the post-debate polling.
"While it has been previously announced that Fred Thompson may have been the biggest loser at the debate after dropping double digits from 15% of the pre-debate vote to 4% after the debate, Romney's drop to 0 votes may be more significant," said John Collins, President of Tampa, Florida based The Extreme Group, Inc. (http://www.theextremegroup.com) the debate's pollster. "Romney only lost 4% of voters, but you can't go any lower than zero votes." It is very clear to see where those votes went; Former Arkansas Governor Mike Huckabee gained over 28% of the votes and was declared the winner of the event with 63%.
The audience response technology allows us to see where the candidates started in terms of voter support and where they ended at the conclusion of the debate yet we can also see where they lost or gained votes. Because the audience was able to vote on each candidate's response throughout the evening, we can tell you exactly when the voters shifted their support," said John Collins President of The Extreme Group, Inc. (http://www.theextremegroup.com) "As with every audience, this audience listened carefully to the attending candidate's positions and casted their votes for whom they believed will best represent them in Washington. Monday night the audience spoke loud and clear; they will not support Romney, Giuliani, Thompson or McCain."
"The candidates who chose not to attend will regret the decision to snub us because they will not win without us," said Janet Folger, the debate's organizer. Other than Mike Huckabee; Duncan Hunter and John Cox were the only two other candidates that finished the night with more votes than they started.
