The alternative investment industry is experiencing tremendous growth in Asia

PerTrac President and CEO, Gerry Mintz, today announced plans to expand the firm’s presence in Asia to meet client needs and growing demand for its products. PerTrac provides investment industry software solutions including its flagship PerTrac Analytical Platform and PerTrac CMS, its popular investment management, investor relations and capital introduction workflow management system.

“The alternative investment industry is experiencing tremendous growth in Asia,” remarked Phil Cook, PerTrac Commercial Manager, Asia. “Being on the ground here has really helped us reach out to the Asian investment community, both locally-based firms as well as the Asian offices of global institutions. We have grown our business considerably over the past year, adding a significant number of clients to our roster. In fact, we have added six new hedge fund clients in the last month alone. We are expanding our staff and service offerings accordingly at our Hong Kong office to continue to provide quality service to our clients in multiple Asian countries. PerTrac is poised to enhance its service offerings and achieve further growth thanks to expanded operations and an ever-improving line-up of products to offer clients.”

James Yip has joined PerTrac, Asia, in the role of Professional Services Representative. Yip comes to the firm from Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing Limited, where he served as a Senior System Analyst in Listing System Development and Support. He has also held technical training and consulting roles at Kenfil (Hong Kong), Edvance, E-Training Center, and Toppan Forms Computer System. Yip has received over 30 technical certifications and qualifications from leading technology vendors such as Microsoft, Cisco, Citrix, Sun, and Oracle. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in computer engineering from the Open University of Hong Kong.

PerTrac opened its Hong Kong office one year ago and has since outgrown the space, prompting a move to a larger site later this month. The new address for the office will be 1703 Winway Building, 50 Wellington Street, Central. The Hong Kong office may be reached by telephone at +852 2526 9780. The Hong Kong office oversees the company’s efforts in all Asian markets outside of Japan. PerTrac products have been offered in the Japanese market since 1999 through a separate Tokyo office.

The Asian hedge fund industry has boomed in recent years, with new hedge funds and funds of hedge funds opening at unprecedented rates and more Asian allocators pouring money into alternative investments. This growth has prompted PerTrac’s increased focus on the alternative investment industry in the region. Hedge funds and funds of funds represent important segments within the company’s client base, which also includes banks, brokerages, institutional investors, and consultants. The company offers investment industry software solutions, including the PerTrac Analytical Platform, the leading investment analysis and asset allocation desktop application, and PerTrac CMS, the premiere investment management, investor relations and capital introduction workflow management system designed specifically for investment firms. A third major application, PerTrac Portfolio Manager, is currently in beta testing with commercial release expected before year end. The company also distributes a wide range of third-party investment databases for use with its software.
