Parasoft Corporation, the leading provider of automated solutions and infrastructure services that improve software quality and the development process, today announced the contribution of “The Long- Term Benefits of Beautiful Design, by Dr. Adam Kolawa. Chapter 15 in “Beautiful Code” explains how attention to good design principles many decades ago helped CERN's widely used mathematical library (the predecessor of LINPACK) stand the test of time.

“With code, beauty is not in the eye of the beholder, but rather in the eyes of everyone who later reads, uses, or maintains that code,” stated Dr. Adam Kolawa, CEO of Parasoft Corporation. “As systems evolve and become more complex, developers are more wary about making changes to the code, if developers want their code to stand the test of time, development teams need it to be reviewed not only automatically, but also with the finest analysis instrument of all the human brain.”

Dr. Adam Kolawa co-founder and CEO of Parasoft, leadership and visionary work in the technology industry, has helped Parasoft introduce a code review automation technology to ensure that code is peer reviewed, which is essential to it "standing the test of time"-- one of Kolawa's key criteria for beautiful code. This makes peer code review practical for even geographically distributed development teams.

“I've been a fan of Dr. Adam Kolawa's software for more than fifteen years. When his first book, "Bulletproofing Web Applications", came out, I discovered that he could write as well as code, so he was one of the first people I asked to contribute to "Beautiful Code", stated Dr. Greg Wilson, assistant professor in Computer Science at the University of Toronto. “This new book covers a lot of things that ought to be part of undergraduate programs in Computer Science, but aren't; it's a great starting point for anyone who wants to pick up skills that will make the difference between being done, and being great.”
