Stay-At-Home Dad and Accomplished Handyman Launches Website to Help Others Maximize Time with Family While Minimizing Costs and Frustrations Associated with Home Repairs

Fed-up with the costs of home repairs and the time and money these often tedious tasks took away from his family life, Scott Gray decided to take his homeowner woes and turn them into a resource for others who shared his homeowner frustrations, creating a one-of-a-kind website that brings together well-researched information, personal insights and even tips and tricks of the trade, allowing other frustrated homeowners to access everything they need to make their own home repairs in one single place, saving immeasurable amounts of time and money.

Vancouver, British Columbia (PRWEB) October 1, 2007 -- Fed-up with the costs of home repairs and the time and money these often tedious tasks took away from his family life, Scott Gray decided to take his homeowner woes and turn them into a resource for others who shared his homeowner frustrations, creating a one-of-a-kind website that brings together well-researched information, personal insights and even tips and tricks of the trade, allowing other frustrated homeowners to access everything they need to make their own home repairs in one single place, saving immeasurable amounts of time and money.

Called www.EverydayHandyman.com, the new site takes a realistic approach to home ownership, helping everyday homeowners tackle minor repairs, while learning more about the hand tools and power tools needed to maintain a home.

The website also boasts an informative, regularly updated blog that has prompted an ongoing, informative dialog between homeowners, creating a real sense of community, and pride.

"The average homeowner simply can't afford to pick up the phone and call in professional help every time there is a minor mishap in their home; yet, it seems even fewer know how to handle these inevitable problems with ease, not sure exactly how to do something or what tools are needed to do the job right," explains Gray. "I spent years going through this and decided to take my experiences, my own handyman skills, and the many successes I have experienced and help others who may be feeling the stress -- mentally and financially, of living in what can easily become a real money pit."

Gray, a stay-at-home father of two, says that when first faced with doing his own home repairs, he regularly heard from friends who shared the same stresses, dealing with everything from kitchen sink leaks and patching drywall to repairing roofs, air conditioners, etc.

"These are the challenges every homeowner faces at sometime or another and after practically breaking the bank to keep our home up, and watching my buddies do the same, I knew that not only could I turn the situation around, but that I could help others do the same by recording my experiences and even my friend's then providing detailed solutions written in layman's terms so that anyone could follow through with a completed repair," Gray explains.

And, while Gray has always been handy and enjoys working on both his home and his car, he recognizes that others may not share his passion or even his desire to complete home repairs on their own, but may be forced to because of their financial situation.

According to Gray, this further explains why he started the handyman website and even how he chose topics to cover on the site, such as flooring, painting and gardening, and tools reviews. He has recently also added a comprehensive automotive section to the website, and a special Tips area that provides site visitors with new tips each week on a variety of topics related to home and auto repairs and maintenance.
