Tackle Your Super Bowl Party Woes -- Event Planner Offers Tips for a Fun and Festive Gathering that Won't Break the Bank

Are you prepared for the biggest party day of the year? Mary Lou Wilson, event planner and author of "Party Like a Pro: Real People, Real Parties," has some great tips on how to throw a festive and fun bash without spending a ton of money.

Bedford, NH (PRWEB) January 5, 2007 -- Super Bowl Sunday is the biggest party day of the year, but you don't have to empty your wallet to throw a fabulous bash.

Mary Lou Wilson, event planner and author of "Party Like a Pro®: Real People, Real Parties," (www.partylikeapro.com) knows firsthand how to host a party that is fun, festive and financially feasible.

Party Like a Pro®: Real People, Real Parties
"So many people think that throwing a party has to cost a ton or that you have to spend the entire day in the kitchen preparing a huge feast, but that is just not true," said Wilson, whose party tips are currently featured on the back of Tony's®, Freschetta® and Red Baron® pizza boxes.

The party planning expert said that because eating is the second most important part of Super Bowl Sunday -- the game being the first -- hosts should build their party plans around the food they want to serve.

"Popular foods for Super Bowl bashes include Mexican, pizza, subs and American favorites like hot dogs and hamburgers," said Wilson. "Themes like that add to the party and are only limited to one's imagination. For example, you can host a tailgate-themed party with all the tailgate foods you love to have at the game."

Wilson said hosts can kick their parties up a notch by hanging team banners, pennants and posters, or by using team colors in paper products and decorations.

"Engage your guests and get them involved in the celebration by creating football scorecards and awarding prizes for the person with the closest score at the end of each quarter," she added.

Wilson has more than 20 years experience hosting corporate events and organizing parties for companies such as AT&T, Blue Cross and Blue Shield and Walt Disney World. The "Party Like a Pro®" author's suggestions for trimming holiday bash expenses were featured in the November 2006 edition of Family Circle. More recently, Wilson's book has been selected as a gift for attendees of the Sundance Film Festival in Park City, Utah.
