There is an easy way to help a soldier stationed in Iraq and overseas connect with loved ones for Valentine's Day. Bring in a used cell phone with a battery attached to the nearest Liberty Tax Service (www.libertytax.com)

Washington, D.C. (PRWEB) January 25, 2007 -- There is an easy way to help a soldier stationed in Iraq and overseas connect with loved ones for Valentine's Day. Bring in a used cell phone with a battery attached to the nearest Liberty Tax Service (www.libertytax.com) office. All Liberty Tax Service offices are official collection sites for Cell Phones for Soldiers (www.cellphonesforsoldiers.com).

Liberty Tax will host a special used cell phone collection event on February 2nd at 6:00 PM during their 24 hour "Slumber Party" event. Music will be provided by DJ Deno (www.denomusic.com) and light refreshments will be available.

Every donated cell phone can buy a calling card of up to 100 minutes for a soldier. It's a good time of year to recycle that cell phone and make a real difference for our troops
"Every donated cell phone can buy a calling card of up to 100 minutes for a soldier. It's a good time of year to recycle that cell phone and make a real difference for our troops," Said Samuel Brogden Office Supervisor of Liberty Tax Service in Washington, D.C. Mr. Brogden knows first hand, He almost gave his life three times while serving in Baghdad during Operation Iraqi Freedom.

The Cell Phones for Soldiers concept was the brainstorm of teenagers Brittany and Robbie Bergquist of Norwell, Massachusetts. They were disturbed after hearing a news story about an American soldier in Iraq with a staggering phone bill. The Bergquists started Cell Phones for Soldiers with their snack money, and have recruited sponsors and cell phone companies to help. The website has details for those who would like to make cash donations.
