Playwright Joshua Graves premieres intense dark comedy "Tall Pines Lodge" at renowned fringe theater "Frontera Fest" in Austin TX.
Austin, TX (PRWEB) January 27, 2007 -- Deep in the Piney Woods of East Texas, a group of thieves wait in an abandoned catfish dive.
They're waiting for their payout, and tension mounts when their leader shows up with an unexpected guest.
"Everything moved like clockwork until she walked in...."
"Tall Pines Lodge", a dark comedy written by Joshau Graves, is premiering as part of Frontera Fest at Airport Theatre January 27th at 5:45. Austin's famed Frontera Fest is the fringe theater event of the southwest, with over 20 short and 10 long alternative, off-beat plays scheduled over five weeks.
"Tall Pines Lodge" exposes the underlying humanity of the hard-boiled characters with a disturbing blend of humor and carnage that leaves the audience alternately cringing and guessing. Lines are drawn and crossed with intensity, leading to an unforgettable climax.
Called "one of the most focused and determined presences working today" by his peers, Joshua Graves has been a member of the Texas Theatre Commmunity for over 17 years. He has a BFA from Texas State University and is on the Board of Directors for the Tri-M Foundation, which seeks to promote and produce theatre arts throughout the community.
