London (PRWEB) October 4, 2007
Typically people like to escape the harsh Northern Hemisphere Christmas's and venture south towards the equator for a warmer Christmas and this year has seen the quickest sale of Xmas rooms in history at Costa Rica Luxury Holiday. Costa Rica is typically busting at the seams over Xmas and this year it has busted before the lights are on the tree.
In the past Costa Rica Luxury Holiday, a travel agency based in San Jose has seen availability right up to a couple of weeks before Xmas; however, this year they have sold over 80% of their Xmas blocks before the neighbours have even thought about Xmas. The Christmas blocks were released in mid May and in less than 5 months over 1,000 room nights have been sold, making this the quickest sale of Xmas room nights in the companies history and maybe even Costa Rica. If the pattern follows in Xmas rooms sales then by the end of October Costa Rica's premium hotels will be full and Costa Rica Holiday will be left with all blocks sold.
This is the quickest sale of Xmas room's nights in the history of Costa Rica Holiday and also there has been an increase in the amount of honeymooners coming over Xmas. Richard Bexon of Costa Rica Honeymoons explains one of the reasons for the quick sales of Xmas blocks is that honeymooners are flocking in their droves as it means less work days off and also an escape of the harsh weather.
The most popular room nights were to hotels such as the Paradisus Playa Conchal, Punta Islita Hotel, El Parador Hotel and La Mansion Arenal. The early bookers found that they had a choice of the rooms while leaving it until later in the year meant a limited choice. However a client of Costa Rica Holiday enquired the other day that why are there no rooms available if booking 4 months in advance? However as with most things it is first come first serve. Typically over Xmas, Costa Rica has over 1 million people coming and going.
One of the main problems now that Agencies in Costa Rica will find states Alan Prendergast (Travel Consultant, San Jose) 'is that the price of flights has sky rocketed as every man and his dog wants to come on holiday between Dec 20-23. Look at booking flights before 20th or after 24th Dec flying back on either Dec 30-31 or after Jan 4th'. On further analysis a flight from London to San Jose Dec 22nd to Jan 2nd is in excess of over £900, where as a flight from Dec 25th until Jan 7th is around the £600 per person mark. A hint would be to travel outside of peak holiday dates to make sure that a good priced airfare is found and secured.
There is still limited space in hotels in Costa Rica, however the Paradisus Playa Conchal, a 5 star property in Guancaste, Costa Rica is fully booked over Xmas and New Years. The Fours Seasons is fully booked and so are most of the popular and luxury hotels of Costa Rica. Still looking for a deal or availability over Costa Rica?
