It is crucial for the Instituto Tecnológico de Santo Domingo to have a software system in place that will support our strategic priorities
Boston, MA (Vocus) October 1, 2007 –-
Jenzabar®, Inc., the leading provider of software, services and strategies for higher education, announced today that the Instituto Tecnológico de Santo Domingo (INTEC), based in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, has selected the Jenzabar EX Total Campus Management™ solution. The contract expands Jenzabar’s penetration into the Caribbean and Latin American market.
INTEC selected the Jenzabar EX enterprise resource planning (ERP) solution based on the strength of the application and the appeal of Jenzabar’s award-winning campus portal. INTEC purchased the Jenzabar EX business office suite to replace the institution’s in-house applications, which were not designed to keep up with their growing business needs. With the Jenzabar EX business office suite, INTEC plans to provide advanced services for students and faculty by generating clear and accurate financial reports, and to improve efficiency throughout its back-office operations. INTEC plans to implement the Jenzabar EX student suite and JICS over the next two years.
“It is crucial for the Instituto Tecnológico de Santo Domingo to have a software system in place that will support our strategic priorities,” says Dr. Miguel J. Escala, Dean of Instituto Tecnológico de Santo Domingo. “Jenzabar’s Total Campus Management solution will help us improve our student services and enhance our capabilities to be an overall better institution.”
The INTEC win marks significant strategic direction for Jenzabar to increase its customer base in the Caribbean and Latin American regions. As of now, local clients include Universidad Sagrado Corazon and Polytechnic University of Puerto Rico. Currently, institutions of higher education in the Caribbean and Latin American markets are moving toward implementing enterprise resource planning software solutions and Internet portals that are tailored specifically for university and college needs. Jenzabar recently increased its sales force in the area and has future plans to further expand its presence.
“The INTEC customer win further solidifies Jenzabar’s growing presence in the Latin American and Caribbean region,” says Robert A. Maginn, Jr., Jenzabar Chairman and Chief Executive Officer. “We believe there is tremendous opportunity in the area and have developed a strategic approach to support the emerging needs of institutions in this important region.”
INTEC was established in 1972 as a private institution and has since increased enrollment to a student base of 3,200. The school was founded with the mission of delivering a leading education in technology and is currently one of the most prestigious institutes of higher education in the Dominican Republic.
