In honor of Breast Cancer Awareness month, dot.coms such as momAgenda ( are doing good in a virtual campaign to combat a very real disease.

From "retail philanthropy" to a virtual walk-a-thon, the Gal to Gal breast cancer awareness campaign that launched this past Monday includes many innovative online efforts towards a one million dollar goal. The campaign will receive supplementary donations from upscale day planner company momAgenda and others in hopes of reaching this projected sum.

The centerpiece of the campaign is an online breast cancer walk-a-thon called "Gal to Gal Virtual Walk 2007." In this unique campaign, supporters can create and pledge money to virtual "walkers." Gal to Gal aims to register 1 million walkers in 31 days, and subsequently raise one million dollars over the next three years. The money will be used to fight breast cancer and honor those with Stage IV cancer.

To contribute towards Gal to Gal's goal, momAgenda is donating a percent of profits from select products to the campaign. During the month of October, those who fancy a side of online shopping with their online walking can check out the charitable shopping site Uptown Liz, where the fuchsia momAgenda desktop is being featured as part of this promotion, along with many other breast cancer products.

"momAgenda is proud to participate in this unique breast cancer awareness campaign," said momAgenda President Nina Restieri. "As an online vendor of women's luxury goods, I felt it was both momAgenda's responsibility and privilege to participate in fighting this female disease, and our gorgeous fuchsia Dekstop day planner seemed like the perfect product for the job."
