Boca Raton's Levitt Capital Management Hires Leading Fund Manager from Africa -- Warren Buhai to be Managing Director of Investments

Also adds prominent analyst from India, Rachana Rathi as portfolio analyst; moves in response to growing client base and assets under management.

Boca Raton, FL (PRWEB) October 3, 2007 -- Levitt Capital Management, LLC (LCM), based here, has hired Warren Buhai, CFA, and a leading fund manager from Africa, as its Managing Director of Investments and has also added a prominent analyst from India, Rachana Rathi, as a portfolio analyst, it was announced by Robert Levitt, Founder and Chief Investment Officer.

According to Mr. Levitt, the move is in response to a growing client base of wealthy families from Florida and around the world and to increased assets under management. In addition, Mr. Levitt travels frequently around the world seeking out investment opportunities for clients and therefore needs additional professionals based in the office. Both will start in their new positions on October 1, 2007.

Warren Buhai was one of South Africa's best performing resources fund managers while at STANLIB, the country's largest unit trust company. He credited his performance to his continued belief in the strength and longevity of the current commodity cycle.

Warren Buhai, 31, is a Chartered Financial Analyst charterholder with 14 years of financial experience. He will be Managing Director of Investments, responsible for overseeing the investment staff and portfolio management, as well as trading, back office operations and research and analysis for Levitt Capital Management (LCM). He will report directly to Mr. Levitt and travel with him as well.
   
Prior to joining LCM, he was an Investment Analyst and Fund Manager with STANLIB Asset Management since 2005. He was responsible for fundamental, industry, quantitative and technical analysis, as well as valuations, forecasting and fund management. He covered natural resources companies and commodities. He managed about $1 billion in resources funds.
   
Previously, he was Manager - Corporate Finance at Standard Bank in the Corporate and Investment Banking division since 2000. His responsibilities included valuations, mergers and acquisitions, listings and capital restructurings. He covered a broad range of industries and a substantial number of companies.
   
Mr. Buhai had formerly worked as an Assistant Audit Manager in the Entrepreneurial Growth Companies Division of Ernst & Young from 1994. He holds Bachelor's and Honours Degrees in Accounting, as well as a Postgraduate Diploma in Auditing from the University of South Africa, is a qualified South African Chartered Accountant and a CFA charterholder.

Ms. Rachana Rathi, 27, has joined Levitt Capital Management as a portfolio analyst and will be responsible for analyzing companies for client portfolios at the firm.
   
Prior to joining LCM, she was a Financial Associate at Opus Financial Services Ltd in Mumbai, India from 2005. There she helped establish the firm's advisory practice and process, as well as compliance and marketing collateral. She researched and reviewed the various investment options in the Indian capital markets.
    
Ms. Rathi earned a Masters in Business Administration in 2005 from Jankidevi Bajaj Institute of Management Studies in Mumbai, India. She also holds a Bachelor of Engineering from the University of Mumbai.
