Rockland County, NY Citizen Activist Group "Quiet Rockland" Calls for Immediate Boycott of Newark Liberty Airport and All Commercial Airlines Using It

Outraged by the FAA's Record of Decision group of Rockland County Citizenes call for Boycott of Newark Liberty Airport Millions of Citizens deprived of due process should take action

Rockland County, NY (PRWEB) October 3, 2007 -- Outraged by the Federal Aviation Administration's recently-issued "Record of Decision" on its NY/NJ/PA "Airspace Redesign" threatening to route up to 600 loud commercial jetcraft flights per day less than a mile over their heads and homes, a rapidly-growing force of Rockland County, NY citizens who have been mounting protests against the FAA today called for a full public, consumer, and traveler boycott of Newark Liberty Airport in Newark, New Jersey - as well as a full boycott of each of the commercial airlines who fly in and out of NWR, one of the largest airline hubs in the world.

The boycotted airlines include the following as listed on the Newark Liberty Airport website at "http://www.panynj.gov": Air Canada, Air France, Air India, Air Jamaica, Air Plus Comet, Air Tran Airways, Alaska Airlines, Alitalia, America West, American, American Eagle, British Airways, Casino Express, Chatauqua, Comair, Continental, Czech Airlines, Delta, El Al, EVA Airways, Express Jet, Flybe British European, Jet Blue, KLM Royal Dutch Airlines, L'Avion, Lot Polish, Lufthansa, Malaysia, Mexicana, Miami Air, Midwest, Northwest, Qantas, SAS, Silverjet, Singapore Airlines, Swiss, TAP Portugal, United, USA3000, US Airways, and Virgin Atlantic.

"On behalf of 'Quiet Rockland' and Rockland County's 285,000 citizens, we urge all Rockland County residents to avoid the boycotted airlines and Newark Airport at all costs", says Tom Sullivan, Spokesman for 'Quiet Rockland'. Continues Sullivan: "Moreover, 30,000,000 people are threatened and victimized by the FAA's recent Record of Decision and Airspace Redesign. That's one-tenth of this Country's population. We ask that all 30 million who reside under or near the NY/NJ/PA airspace, join our boycott of Newark Airport and each of the boycotted airlines."

'Quiet Rockland' urges travelers to use alternate New York-area airports
such as JFK and LaGuardia, as well as use alternate airlines and alternate forms of transportation in lieu of air travel.
