OrthoView To Showcase Cutting-Edge Software at RSNA 2007

Orthopaedic planning leader to spotlight new client/server software and cutting edge module for limb deformity correction surgery.

Boston, Mass. (PRWEB) October 4, 2007 -- OrthoView (www.orthoview.com), the world's most widely used digital orthopaedic planning solution, today announced that it will feature demonstrations of its latest Client/Server software and a new module for Limb Deformity repair at RSNA 2007 in Chicago this November.

At RSNA, OrthoView will demonstrate its new client/server software including customized versions for all major PACS vendors, including: GE (Centricity Web), McKesson (Horizon Medical Imaging), Philips (iSite), Agfa (Impax) and Carestream.

Also, as part of its new Version 5 software, OrthoView will also present its new module for Limb Deformity planning. The new module includes a unique capability for "plate contouring" or on-screen plate-bending visualization. Plate contouring was developed by OrthoView in response to numerous requests from orthopaedic surgeons. It is the result of extensive research and consultation with leading trauma specialists.

"Surgeons bend plates during surgery to fit particular bones. This is something that is difficult to plan in advance using conventional X-rays," said Chris Pinner, EVP Sales and Marketing, OrthoView. Therefore, the ability to visualize this procedure on-screen is of great benefit."

OrthoView is the first company to be able to offer this particular plate bending visualization capability. The Limb Deformity package allows planning of full leg and single bone osteotomies, with the ability to plan deformities in the frontal, sagittal or oblique plane. A unique reduction tool allows quick and easy visualization of the planned correction and the module supports templating of internal and external fixators, including the Taylor Spatial Frame.

In addition, many new templates are available with the new version, including an extensive range of peri-articular plates.

Demonstrations of the new module for Limb Deformity planning with its unique on-screen plate bending visualization capability will be held during RSNA 2007 (in Chicago, November 25-30) at the OrthoView booth, #2973 in the South Building, and also at a number of the company's PACS partners' booths throughout the conference.
