Silicon Valley logistics provider, Power Freight Systems Inc., sees promise, invests in the Austin high-tech market.

Power Freight Systems, Inc., a leading third party logistics (3PL) and distribution services provider to high technology firms, continues their strong growth trend, and expansion of their logistics service capabilities. This week sees the company's foray into Austin, Texas, a community rapidly evolving in terms of technology, logistics and distribution.

Power Freight System's latest distribution facility will comprise 25,000 square feet of distribution and operations space in North Austin. The site is expected to share a great deal in common with the company's most recent North West office in Tualatin, Oregon, whose development was announced in mid-July of this year.

Austin, strategically located at a cultural and geographic midpoint in the country, already has well-established high technology companies like Dell and Applied Materials. The Texas capital, with roots in education and entrepreneurship, was ranked the Best Place for Business by Moody's Economy.com this past August. In the heart of the city, the University of Texas at Austin's business incubator is among the best in the country.

Power Freight Systems' CEO, Malcolm Winspear, commented that "With the relatively recent additions of firms such as IBM, Hewlett Packard and Oracle, among others, Austin is rapidly establishing itself as a world class destination for data centers, hi-tech manufacturing firms and the peripheral industries that support these organizations. Much like Portland is becoming known as Oregon's Silicon Forest, Austin's emergence as the Silicon Hills is testament to the city's emphasis on the growth of their high tech manufacturing and services sector. As an organization specializing in providing logistics services for these types of companies, Austin is a perfect fit for our organization and thus a priority location for expansion. We are very excited to be present in this blossoming market."

The new Austin facility will be fully operational by the second week in October.
