Vipera is made out of three components:
- The Vipera mobile application, a mobile Java application users install,
on their phones optimized for easy photo blogging and for browsing of Vipera content
- The Vipera Web site at www.vipera.com optimized for PC browsers
- The Vipera WAP site at wap.vipera.com optimized for mobile phone browsers.
Vipera is free of charge and is used predominantly by users who don't have PC access to the internet, but are equipped with a mobile phone and a mobile data subscription plan for GPRS, EDGE or UMTS.
Vipera is a unique combination of a micro-blogging and instant messaging social network on the handset with editorial animation functionalities. Additional features are:
- dynamic multi-language, incl. Arabic and Asian languages
- user ratings, commenting, discussions
- elegant combination of browser-like navigation with benefits of a rich client (Java MIDP)

Through the Vipera application, mobile users connect to the Vipera thematic channels (World, Music, Sports, Travel, Mylife, Misc), where users can create own blogs and post multimedia content. Blogs are open to contributions by any other user or only by "friends". Users can also create private blogs that are visible only to the creator itself.
Users can browse and search through all public Vipera content, rate or comment what other users have published, search users who are currently online, make friends and exchange instant messages.
All public content created with the Vipera mobile application is instantly published to the vipera.com web site and mobile site, to be seen on PCs and phones all over the world.
Vipera also features presence features (who of my friends is online/offline?), buddy lists and powerful instant messaging features, allowing users to communicate more effectively and at lower cost than SMS or MMS.
