GoalQuest, the Retention Division of Halyard Education Partners, today announced the launch of UFindIt™, an online-offline scavenger hunt and e-community that brings students together to win prizes for demonstrating their knowledge of important people, places and things on campus.

Styled as an interactive trivia challenge, UFindIt is part of GoalQuest FYRe™, a comprehensive interactive program that helps participants navigate college life while giving administrators powerful early alert tools to identify students at risk of attrition. The eight-week challenge is currently being used by more than 25 colleges and universities across the country.

As part of its FYRe retention program, GoalQuest works with staff at each school to create a combination of fun and informative questions in five categories: Fine Arts, Sports & Health, Science & Technology, Student Life, Bonus Trivia and "Get Up & Find It"─questions that require students to venture out of their residence halls. While some questions refer to pop culture and national trends, most relate to unique locations on each host campus, such as:

--What is the receptionist's name in the Academic Resource Center?
--The Office of Scholarships & Financial Aid is located in which hall?
--If eager to get involved in a community volunteer project, which office would you contact first?
--Which building houses a cafeteria, a post office and a wellness center?
--How many round columns stand at the entrance to the building that houses the math tutoring center?
--What is the least expensive shampoo at the University Supply Store?

"GoalQuest has certainly hit the mark in creating a comprehensive engagement tool that students find fun, even addictive, compelling them to learn about critical support services," said Jennifer Benson Jones, director of academic retention at The University of Alabama. "Students learn about these physical places in a virtual medium, while also engaging in educational content that helps them gain confidence and comfort by assessing their own personal and academic progress. The tool includes real-time survey instruments to track students who may be an attrition risk."

In order to participate in UFindIt, students must pass through the FYRe content portal, which includes feature articles, interactive self-tests and first-person videos on time management, health and wellness, student skills and exam prep, career planning, diversity and a range of other subjects that each participating school identifies as part of the development process. Students may also track their standings at any time by returning to the FYRe portal. The student at each school who has accumulated the most points at the end of the eight-week challenge receives a $300 American Express gift card, supplied to the school as part of the program.
