If people can't read, how can they know the Scriptures and make an eternal decision for Christ?
Peralta, NM (PRWEB) October 7, 2007
Bible translation and Audio Bible technologies will be discussed by the International Director of Hosanna/Faith Comes By Hearing, Morgan Jackson, as the featured speaker at the Bible Translation 2007 Conference's Public Banquet. The event will be held in Dallas, Texas at the Graduate Institute of Applied Linguistics on October 17th at 7 pm.
Jackson, whose parents Annette and Jerry Jackson were the founders of Faith Comes By Hearing, has been involved in ministry since 1983. Jerry, while out in the field spreading the good news of God's Word, came to the realization that over half the entire population of the world cannot read. Because of this, hard copies of the Bible sometimes sit unused in missionary work. They wondered, "If people can't read, how can they know the Scriptures and make an eternal decision for Christ?" To fill this vital need, Jerry created a version of the Bible that everyone can understand: the Audio Bible. Faith Comes by Hearing has become globally recognized for their work in audio Bible translations.
Today Faith Comes by Hearing, in partnership with Bible translation groups such as Wycliffe Bible Translators, as well as other Bible Societies and ministries, offers several audio versions of the Bible in 260 languages spoken by 4.3 billion people living on every continent in 92 countries. Bringing the Word of God to a people group in their indigenous language, or heart language, opens up a whole new world of evangelistic possibilities that Faith Comes By Hearing makes possible.
Faith Comes By Hearing, as the world leader in audio scriptures distribution, is represented by Morgan Jackson around the world. His joy is to facilitate recording and distributing Bible translations in audio formats. Faith Comes by Hearing has nearly every language translated into an audio Bible on CD. They have their own recording center and now offer the mp3 audio Bible and podcasts formats with the goal provide ministries worldwide with the tools they need to grow God's church everywhere in the world.
One unique feature that FCBH offers to missionaries in remote areas are playback devices that run on solar batteries. This means that audio bibles and audio sermons can be played on these units without depending on often unreliable local power sources. People living in underdeveloped areas can also be included in outreach efforts designed to change lives.
As an event with the focus of examining strategies and methods for translator and consultant training, the Bible Translation 2007 conference will feature 18 papers and 10 additional presentations.
