Breast Cancer Benefit to Take Place in Alpharetta

The 2-Day Walk for Breast Cancer is a 10-30 mile walk--with participants raising funds to support breast cancer organizations in the community where the event takes place.

Alpharetta, GA (PRWEB) October 7, 2007 -- The 2-Day Walk for Breast Cancer is a 10-30 mile walk--with participants raising funds to support breast cancer organizations in the community where the event takes place. Alpharetta, Georgia, served as home to the Atlanta 2-Day Walk for Breast Cancer in both 2003 and 2004 and the Alpharetta Convention and Visitors Bureau is actively working to bring the event back to Alpharetta for Sept 19-20, 2008--selling Alpharetta to event organizers as the perfect, safe and community-oriented location. In addition to being a positive fundraising event, the 2-Day Walk in 2003 and 2004 averaged 1,300 participants, resulting in approximately 400 room nights in Alpharetta hotels. More than 1,500 walkers are expected to participate in the 2008 event, potentially yielding 700 room nights in Alpharetta hotels.

Said Janet Rodgers, President and CEO of the Alpharetta Convention and Visitors Bureau, "Assisting organizations with finding the right facilities and accommodations in Alpharetta--that meet their specific needs--is a key part of the Bureau's overall mission."

The Alpharetta CVB recently helped identify The Prospect House as the Alpharetta event facility for "Trimmed in Pink," an evening of fashion and fun benefiting the 2007 Atlanta Breast Cancer Challenge and taking place on Sunday, October 21, from 6-9 PM. A silent auction and fashion show will take place with food and drinks provided. Tickets for the "Trimmed in Pink" event can be purchased at Muse Salon and Spa or E K Taylor and are $100 each-with all proceeds benefiting the 2007 Atlanta Breast Cancer Challenge.
