Pacific Media Expo Hosts First Student Asian Media Summit

Student interested in attending PMX free of charge?

Nationwide student groups interested in Asian media and pop culture are invited to participate in the inaugural Student Asian Media Summit, presented by the Pacific Media Association Nov. 9-11. Concurrent to Pacific Media Expo, it is free to participants.

"As the first show dedicated to Asian and Asian American media and pop culture in the United States, we sought to create a focal point in the US. Now we'd like to start building a community where the next generation of innovators and evangelists can start meeting to discuss issues relevant to their communities," said Mike Tatsugawa, PMX Convention Chair. "We're auctioning OLIVIA's generous donation, a custom Roswell Rhoads Jackson electric guitar she used in a music video, to begin raising funds to help young artists. We'd like to start by getting some input on how we can help them."

Interested high school or student groups active in the consumption, promotion or development of Asian or Asian-American media will be given two complimentary passes to the Pacific Media Expo. Delegates will attend specialized planning sessions and explore potential uses for the PMA Emerging Artist Support Fund.

Information on obtaining complimentary delegate passes as well as session information will be available on the Pacific Media Expo website ( beginning Sept. 20.
