Respected financial services professional Joseph Sparacio, CLU®, CLF® will be inducted into The American College's Alumni Hall of Fame in an award ceremony at The College's Knowledge Summit on Thursday, November 15, 2007. Sparacio is the CEO and Managing Partner of The Island Financial Group of Woodbury, New York, a MassMutual general agency.
The Alumni Hall of Fame is intended to recognize graduates of The College's designation or degree programs who have made extraordinary contributions in time, effort and energy to this remarkable institution of higher learning. Individuals must be long-term volunteers of The College and active participants in The College's community and learning environment. Only two other individuals have ever been inducted into The American College Alumni Hall of Fame.
The selection of the Alumni Hall of Fame recipient is determined by a committee of seven individuals who review the nomination forms. This nomination review committee is comprised of faculty, staff and financial professionals who earned their designations or degrees from The American College. Begin nominated previously did not exclude individuals from consideration in 2007.
"There were many outstanding nominees and it was hard to narrow the choices down to just one," said Russell Figueira, Vice President of Alumni Relations and Human Capital. "As an accomplished speaker who actively promotes the value of financial services education and The American College, Joe stood out among this year's candidates. He is an active champion of our institution and our industry and we are proud to add Joe to the prestigious list of individuals inducted into our Alumni Association Hall of Fame."
"My Chartered Life Underwriter® (CLU®) and Chartered Leadership Fellow® (CLF®) studies helped me to achieve career success," said Sparacio. "I hope my example and my induction into the Alumni Hall of Fame will encourage others to pursue their education at The American College. Understanding client needs and having the knowledge to provide financial solutions are the cornerstones of quality customer service."
