By using the right technology and key security practices, consumers and businesses can not only protect their computers, identities and information from cyber criminals, but also play a proactive role in helping protect the nation's critical infrastructure from man-made threats.

Anakam, Inc. announced today that they will join the National Cyber Security Alliance (NCSA) in actively promoting awareness of Internet safety and security issues in conjunction with National Cyber Security Awareness Month during the month of October.

Each year, the National Cyber Security Division (NCSD) of the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) joins with the National Cyber Security Alliance (NCSA), the Multi-State Information Sharing and Analysis Center (MS-ISAC) and other partners to support National Cyber Security Awareness Month (NCSAM). A national campaign, NCSAM is focused on educating the American public, businesses, schools and government agencies about ways to secure their part of cyber space, their computers, data, and our nation's critical infrastructure.

Anakam offers a multi-channel two-factor authentication solution that requires no hardware tokens or software downloads, making it easy and affordable to provide secure access to web-based applications over an extrememly large user base. "Anakam's flagship two-factor authentication platform, Anakam. TFA is one piece of the cyber security puzzle," said Brent Williams, Anakam CTO. "We believe that by educating our customers, partners, and the end consumer on cyber security, we can help empower citizens with ways to protect their identity while online. Our support of National Cyber Security Awareness Month further illustrates our commitment to educate the public about online safety, privacy and security."

"Every October is dedicated to educating the public on measures they can take to secure their computers and information while online. This year, with the tagline of 'Protect Yourself Before You Connect Yourself,' we hope consumers and businesses will better understand the important role they play in protecting themselves in a Web 2.0 World," said Ron Teixeira, Executive Director, NCSA. "By using the right technology and key security practices, consumers and businesses can not only protect their computers, identities and information from cyber criminals, but also play a proactive role in helping protect the nation's critical infrastructure from man-made threats."
