Travel Threats Student International Travel Safety (SITS) Program raises the knowledge level of students travling abroad concerning threats within countries being visited.

Travel Threats (http://www.travelthreats.com) announced today a partnership initiative with schools, colleges and universities to increase travel security and situational awareness for students traveling internationally. Travel Threats Student International Travel Safety (SITS) Program lessens the likelihood of student travelers falling victim to an untoward incident while traveling overseas.

"Unfortunately, students routinely embark on visits to foreign countries without the requisite knowledge that might end up saving their lives. When students travel internationally, often the only individuals consulted concerning safety considerations are travel agents arranging the trip; as such, risks associated with travel are frequently not identified. While some travelers review U.S. government websites, such as the Department of State Travel Warnings, the limited information made available by the U.S. government, and the inability of a traveler to ask a question directly to the analyst who prepared the warnings, fails to adequately provide the kind of support needed to facilitate safe travel overseas." said Tara Suldo, Executive Vice President of Travel Threats. "We believe our partnership with academic institutions provides student travelers an enhanced level of threat warning and protection when conducting international travel." Suldo said.

When contacted by a college, university, high school, or student affiliated organization, a Travel Threats Country Report is created in support of the visit. This comprehensive report, exceeding what is available from U.S. government sources, includes a review over 150 sources of information, and identifies threats posed from Terrorism, Criminal Activity, Civil Unrest, Transportation Infrastructure, Medical Concerns and Inclement Weather. The results of the analysis are also graded against 200 identified concerns to safe travel contained within a unique and country specific, Threat Matrix. This report is distributed to potential travelers and school officials. The Travel Threats Country Report, with the included graded score, provides the critical information for decision makers within the educational institution to judge "go" or "no-go" criteria for potential international travel.

As an extra added value to Travel Threats clients, the company conducts on-site training to allow direct interaction with Travel Threats Analysts. Students and parents are also invited to participate and discussion topics include a review of the threat information contained with the Travel Threats Country Report and cautionary recommendations to utilize during intended travel.
