Union Pacific Railroad Company, Cause No.-42-0193, was decided by a jury on October 10, 2007 in the Circuit Court of the City of St. Louis, Missouri.

Lakin Law Firm attorney Charles Armbruster said, "Our client Steve Lowery, age 50, was injured when a brakeman dropped six empty rail cars down a hill and rolled them into a locomotive Mr. Lowery was trying to start. It was a difficult case because all of Mr. Lowery's co-workers denied that the cars struck the locomotive with enough force to cause any movement. In fact the railroad did a reenactment of the brakeman's version of events showing that the locomotive would not have moved."

The Lakin Law Firm has a long history of aggressively defending the rights of injured railroad workers and their families across the country. Brad Lakin, President of The Lakin Law Firm, said, "Many people don't realize the dangerousness of railroad work. The average fatality rate for railroad workers is twice that of all industrial workers. We're proud of the excellent work Chuck Armbruster and our staff has done in this case. We're pleased that Mr. Lowery can now move on with his life with a greater sense of security and certainty."
