Rudow will show how to use the latest technologies to create more engaging employee communications.

Bonfire Communications, an organizational communications agency specializing in employee engagement and strategy implementation, has announced that its chief executive, Gordon Rudow, will facilitate a post-conference workshop for marketing and communication professionals at this month's Social Media Summit in New York.

Rudow's session, How To Leverage New Technologies To Drive Important Conversations Within Your Organization, will explain a unique thinking and planning process for measuring a company's readiness for new technologies in social media, and help communicators evaluate the appropriateness and effectiveness of such tools for the challenges they face. Rudow will share insights from his own experiences leading some of the world's largest companies through global change communications initiatives.

Michael Rudnick, global intranet and portal practice leader with Watson Wyatt Worldwide and chairperson of the Social Media Summit said, "Today's communication landscape is morphing right before our eyes. On a daily basis, new and innovative social media and e-communication tools, techniques, and technologies are being used for a variety of purposes.

Rudnick added, "That's why this conference is a great forum to hear from leaders in the field who are currently utilizing social media tools in their initiatives and practices."

Observed Bonfire's Rudow, "It's our job as communicators to ensure that advances in social media are being used appropriately in the context of business," said Rudow. "In order to best serve our audiences, we need to ensure the tools are relevant and the content is meaningful, or users won't chose new technology."

Rudow added, "When communicators craft a new strategy for social media, they need to understand the audience's learning styles, needs, concerns, likes and dislikes in order to ensure that the design criteria and tactical implementation will connect with the users they are meant to engage."

Rudow's participation in the Advanced Learning Institute's second national forum this past April was received exceptional responses from the participants, including remarks such as: 'Speaker was passionate about his topic,' 'Exceeded expectation,' and 'Superb!'

The Social Media Summit will take place at the American Management Association (AMA) Conference Center in the heart of New York's world-famous Times Square. The conference theme "Using Blogging, Podcasting And The Latest Web 2.0 Technologies To Engage Your Employees, Reach Your Customers & Build Your Brand" ensures a full house, since many communicators are wrestling with the challenge of integrating new media technologies into their programs.

Rudow's presentation is scheduled for Thursday, October 25, 2007 from 8:30 AM to 11:30 AM Eastern time. To read more about Rudow's session and others, visit the post-conference workshop agenda page:
