Madeline Figueroa-Jones Named Editor of PLUS Model Magazine
New Editor to bring curvy expertise to virtual magazine dedicated to the plus size clothing and plus size modeling industry.
(PRWEB) October 11, 2007 -- PLUS Model Magazine (http://www.plusmodelmag.com), the premiere virtual magazine celebrating the plus size fashion and plus size modeling industry, is pleased to announced that Madeline Figueroa-Jones has been named as Editor. As the former Creative Director and co-creator of PLUS, she brings a wealth of dedication, industry experience and creative talent to her new position.
Ms. Figueroa-Jones is a NY native and former plus size model. After appearing on several television segments including Aqui Y Ahora for Univision, and most recently Court TV's Star Jones' Talk Show, she began reaching out to the plus size community by serving as a moderator for VenusDivas.com and Empowerment Editor for AmazeMag.com. Madeline has experience on and off the runway and served as Casting Director for Hips, Heals and Curves, a traveling fashion show featuring plus size clothing and designs. Always an activist and looking to bring plus size women into a fashion forward mentality she combined forces with friend and online magazine publisher, Valery Amador, to create PLUS Model Magazine.
"PLUS Model Magazine has opened up doors for models, photographers and many others that at one time did not know the influence of a virtual magazine," shares Figueroa-Jones. "As Editor, I will passionately work to support the models who represent 76% (67% percent of women wear a size 14 or larger, but a total of 76% are considered PLUS size, meaning size 12 or larger) of American women in the United States and the industry professionals that support the plus modeling industry."
