Academic Medical Centers 2007: December 3-4, San Diego, California

Groundbreaking New Conference Focuses on Creating the Academic Medical Center of the Future.

Orinda, Calif. (PRWEB) October 11, 2007 -- Tradeline (www.TradelineInc.com) introduces a groundbreaking new conference that tackles the complex issues surrounding integrated planning of academic medical centers. Academic Medical Centers 2007 debuts December 3-4 in San Diego, and will become an integral part of Tradeline's acclaimed conference series.

New initiatives, processes, and visions are poised to make major breakthroughs in medical education and in the rapid translation of discovery into patient-focused treatments. These major realignment efforts are being built on new models of integrated planning (financial, facilities, and academic programs) for integrated programs (research, education, and clinical care).

The conference will feature speakers from some the most renowned medical institutions in the country: Johns Hopkins School of Medicine; Shands Healthcare; Baylor College of Medicine; Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh; Emory University Health Sciences Center; Ohio State University Medical Center; University of California, San Francisco; University of Michigan Medical School; University of Chicago Medical Center and many more. Attendees will see new planning models and initiatives that are realigning missions, infrastructures, and business models; integrating capital, facilities, and operations; and creating flexible infrastructure for long-term viability. Session topics also cover delivering more rapid translation of research into patient-focused treatments; linking research, teaching, and clinical care programs; and anticipating advances in medical equipment and research and teaching technologies.

Conference attendees will also have an opportunity to tour the Rebecca and John Moore's University of California, San Diego (UCSD) Cancer Center or the UCSD Leichtag Biomedical Research Building, the UCSD Skaggs School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences Building, and the UCSD Biomedical Library.

This conference is for senior staff involved in planning (facilities, financial, and academic programs), administration, and operation of academic medical centers (i.e. teaching hospitals, research facilities, medical schools, health centers and clinics).
