PlatformOne offers HR Business Processing Outsourcing (BPO) solutions that include HR Technology Infrastructure, HR Administrative Services, and HR Professional Support to mid-market companies, defined as companies with 500 to 20,000 employees. As a key component of its services, PlatformOne agrees to manage all the human resources information systems and technology infrastructure on behalf of its clients.

The new, five-year agreement will result in the implementation of IBM’s latest computing technologies, including servers, routers, firewalls, switches, and storage devices. Valued at $5 million, the hosting contract calls for IBM to provide managed services such as continuous monitoring, system management, disaster recovery, and infrastructure support.

Until now, the focus of the PlatformOne hosting solutions had been on minimizing downtime and duplicating its computing environment for quicker recovery from a technology failure. With this new solution, continuous monitoring recognizes any technology failure, and cutover to a redundant computing environment is instantaneous. PlatformOne clients’ users won’t even know if a failure has occurred. Should a disaster occur, processing continues through one of the hosting centers located in Georgia or California. This solution also better supports PlatformOne’s normal business requirements, such as providing the necessary computing capacity to replicate environments to test systems performance, migration steps and data accuracy during client implementations.
