San Antonio, Texas (PRWEB) October 16, 2007
Inn on the Riverwalk (http://www.InnOnTheRiverwalkSA.com) recently signed with CPS Energy’s Windtricity and is now established as the first 100 percent wind-powered hotel in San Antonio. Inn on the Riverwalk, under new ownership, will host a grand re-opening on November 8 from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m.
Windtricity, a renewable energy program, allows Inn on the Riverwalk to receive 100 percent of its electricity from wind-powered turbines located in West Texas. According to GreenHotels.com, being green saves money and saves the environment. Other green actions recently implemented at Inn on the Riverwalk include a non-smoking facility, e-mailed invoices and receipts, paper products and/or glass water glasses, use of CFLs and linens that are changed between guests or on request only. Bulk dispensers for amenities will soon be added to guestrooms.
Recently purchased by Scott Kiltoff and wife Johanna Gardner, the bed and breakfast’s renovations and switch to green energy are already making a favorable impression with guests from around the world.
Situated along the picturesque bank of the San Antonio River near the historic King William District, Inn on the Riverwalk offers a romantic escape from the hustle and bustle of city life. The cozy 19th century home features 14 rooms with king or queen beds, private baths and 21st century amenities including wireless Internet. Most rooms have great views of the river and of downtown San Antonio. The dining area offers breakfast from 8:30-9:30 every morning cooked by Kiltoff’s mother.
The beautiful grounds surrounding the bed and breakfast are often the scene of weddings and other parties. Guests can enjoy the peace and quiet that the country-like grounds provide, and at the same time, enjoy the convenience of being within walking distance to more than 65 San Antonio restaurants on and around the riverwalk. Inn on the Riverwalk is also five-10 minutes’ walking distance to The Alamo, The Rivercenter Mall, The Market Square and more.
