SoulOfAmerica.com is launching the web's first soap opera featuring the romantic entanglements of an African-American couple traveling the world. A link to the serial, called "Monique and Jarrett," will appear in each issue of the new semi-monthly SoulOfAmerica.com eNewsletter, which debuts today.
The "webisodes" (web episodes) follow the escapades of Monique, an international public relations professional, and Jarrett, a globetrotting business executive. The on-again, off-again couple serves as a novel supplement to the wealth of information provided by SoulOfAmerica.com, the Internet's only comprehensive resource for travelers seeking black culture worldwide.
"SoulOfAmerica.com's Monique and Jarrett are a compelling example of how travel information can entertain as well as educate," said Thomas Dorsey, Founder & Publisher. "We expect this exciting couple to not only capture the imagination of current SoulOfAmerica.com visitors, but to also attract travel enthusiasts who are new to our site's exclusive content and photographs."
SoulOfAmerica.com showcases the heritage sites, theaters, restaurants, spas, art galleries, music venues, events, family attractions and landmarks that are steeped in African-American culture. Launched as a resource for domestic travel, the site has expanded to cover international destinations with such features as "Soul of Paris" and "Soul of London."
In addition to "Monique and Jarrett," the SoulOfAmerica.com eNewsletter will spotlight what's new on the site, including just-completed city profiles, unique photographs, updated travel news and special events. Other original eNewsletter content will be unveiled in the months ahead. To sign up for the distribution list, visit http://www.soulofamerica.com.
